Obituaries

Mary Sicks Hotalling, 70, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away December 28, 2015, as a result of a stroke that occurred 17 years ago. Mary was the daughter of John and Jeannette Sicks (deceased) and was raised in Sherman, TX. She was a member of the SHS class of 1963, and loved to help and attend the reunions until her stroke. She had many jobs over the years that she loved. She was secretary for ARMCO Steel, was a travel agent, owned a tanning salon, and numerous other successful businesses. She also dedicated her time as a housemother for the SAE fraternity at the University of Kansas. Survivors include son, Jim Hotalling of KS; daughter, Susan Joplin (Hustin Ward), Bates City, MO, sister, Sally Sicks Hart (Ron), of Keizer, OR; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, from Missouri and Kansas, and two nieces of Oregon. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Texas under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. No flowers, please, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Grayson County Goodwill Association.
