Obituary For Mary Margaret Robinson
Mary Margaret “Mimi” Robinson of Sherman, Texas passed away on January 29, 2019. Born January 29, 1924 in Texarkana, Texas to Dr. Richard Grady Hardy and Eloise Bama Hardy. Mimi was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward Coad Robinson. She grew up in Austin, Texas but called Sherman, Texas her home for over 60 years.
Mimi attended the University of Texas where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Mimi was a very talented artist producing hundreds of art pieces in oils and print making, but watercolor was her love. In addition to her own natural artistic talent, she continued to hone her craft and learn new techniques by attending workshops presented by many nationally known watercolorists. Her work was exhibited in juried Art Exhibitions in Austin, Dallas, Lubbock, San Antonio, Sherman, Madill, Oklahoma, and Shreveport, Louisiana. Mimi was a Signature Member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society (S.W.S.) and a member of The Sherman Art League, The Southwestern Watercolor Society, Texas Fine Arts Association, Artists and Craftsmen Associated of Dallas and the Texas Watercolor Society of San Antonio. Her paintings hang in public and private collections throughout the United States and Canada.
Mimi is survived by her two sons: Richard Coad Robinson, his wife Judy C. Robinson of Dallas, Texas; Edward Kenneth Robinson, his wife Paula R. Robinson of Celina, Texas; three grandchildren, Kelly W. Williamson and her husband Eric Williamson of McKinney, Texas, Rebecca D. Robinson of Sherman, Texas and Jason P. Boyd of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and two great grandchildren, Paxton Williamson of McKinney and Chance Montgomery of Sherman, Texas.
The family will receive guests at Dannel Funeral Home, 302 South Walnut in Sherman, Texas from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Burial will be a grave side service in Austin, Texas at Oakwood Cemetery on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her name to your favorite charity or to the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Dallas, 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251. The family also wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Dallas for their loving and compassionate care.
