Obituary For Mary Margaret Robinson

Mary Margaret “Mimi” Robinson of Sherman, Texas passed away on January 29, 2019. Born January 29, 1924 in Texarkana, Texas to Dr. Richard Grady Hardy and Eloise Bama Hardy. Mimi was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward Coad Robinson. She grew up in Austin, Texas but called Sherman, Texas her home for over 60 years.

Mimi attended the University of Texas where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Mimi was a very talented artist producing hundreds of art pieces in oils and print making, but watercolor was her love. In addition to her own natural artistic talent, she continued to hone her craft and learn new techniques by attending workshops presented by many nationally known watercolorists. Her work was exhibited in juried Art Exhibitions in Austin, Dallas, Lubbock, San Antonio, Sherman, Madill, Oklahoma, and Shreveport, Louisiana. Mimi was a Signature Member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society (S.W.S.) and a member of The Sherman Art League, The Southwestern Watercolor Society, Texas Fine Arts Association, Artists and Craftsmen Associated of Dallas and the Texas Watercolor Society of San Antonio. Her paintings hang in public and private collections throughout the United States and Canada.

Mimi is survived by her two sons: Richard Coad Robinson, his wife Judy C. Robinson of Dallas, Texas; Edward Kenneth Robinson, his wife Paula R. Robinson of Celina, Texas; three grandchildren, Kelly W. Williamson and her husband Eric Williamson of McKinney, Texas, Rebecca D. Robinson of Sherman, Texas and Jason P. Boyd of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and two great grandchildren, Paxton Williamson of McKinney and Chance Montgomery of Sherman, Texas.

The family will receive guests at Dannel Funeral Home, 302 South Walnut in Sherman, Texas from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Burial will be a grave side service in Austin, Texas at Oakwood Cemetery on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her name to your favorite charity or to the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Dallas, 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251. The family also wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the T. Mary Margaret was my first watercolor teacher so long ago and I learned a lot from her. I have a small watercolor of hers that I see every day so I will think of her every day--such a lovely person. She shall not be forgotten in my home. Lorraine Hayes Highland Village, Texas

Dick, I send my sympathy and prayers to you, Judy and your family. I grew to know your mother through gathering the family genealogy and felt as if I knew her personally. What a wonderful woman and what a legacy she leaves.

As we celebrate Mimi's life, love and legacy; as we say goodbye to a remarkable, beautiful soul; may our hearts be grateful for the memories made and the wonderful promise of everlasting life. My love to the Robinson family -- Aunt Pama (Pamela Miller)

Mimi was one of my favorite people and I was so sad to read that she had passed. I loved all her paintings and we would always discuss what she was painting. 50 years ago she let me borrow a few paintings for the Needlework Guild tea at my newly purchased home on Crockett. I have always been grateful. We were in two book review clubs together and I thought she was the epitome of a beautiful, gracious lady. I will miss her very much. My condolences to all of you. I will be out of town for the family night.

Toni and I had a long friendship with Mimi and Coad. We are saddened by her passing. We have many of her paintings and sketches to remind us what a talent she had. May God bless you, her family. Jim and Toni Kellerq
