Obituary For Mary Ruth Brice

A graveside service for Mary Ruth Brice, 87, of Denison, Texas, will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Denison. Pastor Leland Samuelson in Denison will officiate. The American Legion Post #62 will accord military honors. Mary was born on January 11, 1936, in Denison, Texas, to Robert and Viola Brice. She was raised in Sherman and graduated from Sherman High School in 1954. She attended Texas Tech before entering the United States Army as a medical technician. She served over 20 years of active duty and in the Texas National Guard. She attained the rank of Master Sergeant and received her RN degree. Upon her retirement from the Texas National Guard, Mary continued working as a nurse at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. After retirement from Seton, she moved back home to Denison. Mary loved her dogs, her church, and her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved serving veterans. She was past commander of the American Legion in Denison and Sherman and a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Veterans of all eras were important to her and she was very proud of her military service and her country. Mary is survived by sister, Nancy Shultz and husband John of Bellevue, Nebraska; niece, Melissa A. Mroczek and husband Nick of Elkhorn, Nebraska; 2 great nieces: Mia and Hadley; great nephew, Cooper; and a host of friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Viola Brice, brother, Boyce Walter Brice, and partner, Lakie Dunford. You may sign the online guestbook at www.Dannelfuneralhome.com.
