Send Flowers Maurine Campbell February 25, 1929 - May 17, 2014 Maurine Wheeler Campbell, 85, passed away Saturday, May 17th at her home in Sherman. Memorial services are planned for 1:00 pm. Saturday, May 24th, at Key Memorial UMC, with Rev. Gaither Day (Ret.) and Rev. Jim Welch officiating. Maurine was born February 25, 1929, in Lannius, TX, to Mitchell and Florence Glover Wheeler. For many years, she owned and operated Sherman Telephone Answering Service, and CellPage. She was a longtime member of Key Memorial UMC, active in the Soroptimist International Club, and the consummate hostess. It was a special honor to be invited to an event/party at Mrs. Maurine’s home. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, her son Danny Campbell and her daughter Dorita Butterwick. She is survived by her son Mark Campbell, of Denison; grandchildren: Zera Taylor, Jeremy Henderson, James Bruen and Austin Gant; and great-grandchildren: Zakary Bruen, Jasmine Bruen, Reilly Taylor and Caine Henderson. Private interment of Maurine’s cremains will be held in Dodd City Cemetery at a later date.
