Obituary For Maxine Ridgedell

Maxine Ridgedell, 84, of Sherman, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 8, 2021. Maxine was born on July 23, 1937 to John Paul Sr and Ruby Daugherty. Maxine met Warren Ridgedell, who was in the Airforce at Perrin Field and the couple was married in 1959 at Central Baptist Church in Sherman. After living a short time in Louisiana, the couple moved to Texas where they worked, served in ministry and raised their three boys and a grand-daughter. Maxine was married to the love of her life for 62 years. They lived a long and happy life together before Warren’s passing on August 26, 2021. Thankfully Maxine has been reunited with her sweetheart after 74 days of a broken heart.

Maxine worked at Texas Instruments until retirement. Maxine was a member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church. After her retirement from Texas Instruments, Maxine loved to be the custodian at Grayson Bible Baptist Church for 16 years. She loved serving in her church - from helping in Sunday School classes , being a greeter, working in the kitchen, and being available to help wherever she was needed. She loved her family, her church family, and most of all her Lord! Most called her “Nanny” because she was like a grandmother to them. You could always hear her talking about her grandkids and great-great niece and nephews. She was known for her mac-n-cheese and her banana pudding, but mostly for her faithfulness and servants’ attitude at church.

She is proceeded in death by her parents John Paul and Ruby Daugherty, her grand-daughter Krystal Ridgedell, her brothers Wayne and Paul Daugherty, her sister Mary Inman, and her beloved husband Warren. She is survived by her sons John Ridgedell (wife Jennifer), David Ridgedell, and James Ridgedell, her sister Molly (husband Bob), grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family night will be Thursday, November 11, from 5-7pm at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 12, at 10am at Cedarlawn Cemetery with Dr. Eddy Johnson and Zach Doty officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grayson Bible Baptist Church Building Fund.
