Obituary For MayBelle Gibby

On the morning of December 19, 2013, another angel was in heaven. MayBelle was a mother, grandmother and friend to many, and loved by everyone who knew her. The family will receive friends at Dannel Funeral Home between 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday evening, December 27, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, with Pastor Leland Samuelson officiating. Interment will follow immediately after chapel service in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. MayBelle was born on March 12, 1927 in Grayson County, the daughter of Floyd and Gracie Flowers. She attended school at Providence School. On July 29, 1949, she married William ‘Bill’ Gibby in Sherman, Texas, where they worked and loved each other until 1997, when he preceded her in death. She worked for several years at Pool Manufacturing, and for the next 35 years was a nurturing caregiver to children in her home. She was a longtime member of Howe Baptist Church. She leaves behind her loving family, daughter and son-in-law Virginia and Joe Davenport of Sherman; three grandchildren: Lindy, Joel and Adam; sisters: Frances Johnson of Sherman, Gladys Sims of Davis, OK; sisters-in-law: Kay Flowers of Garland, Nova Flowers of Fairfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including James McSpedden. Serving as pallbearers are: Joe Davenport, Joel Davenport, Adam Davenport, Greg Flowers, Jackie Cowart, Harold Finney, David Flowers, Randy Flowers, Butch Godwin and Jimmy Reynolds. The family wishes to express deepest gratitude to Wally Totten, his father and his grandfather for being such a special part of MayBelle’s and Bill’s lives. Also, special thanks to Dr. Larry Barker, his staff and all the ‘fourth floor staff of TMC that watched over us’.
