A graveside service for Michael Loren Gibbs, 69, of Sherman, will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at West Hill Cemetery pavilion 1:00 PM. The family will greet friends at Dannel Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside service. Michael passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Michael was born on January 17, 1957, in Sherman, Texas, to Billy Joe and Wynona James Gibbs. He had a brother, Teddy, who preceded him in death.

Michael was raised in Sherman and attended Sherman schools, graduating from Sherman in 1975. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1976 and served 9 years. Michael was one of the original employees at LOF in Sherman and worked there until they closed their doors. He went to work for CertainTeed after they bought the LOF building and was there until August of 2008. He married Gwen Beasley on October 4, 2008. They loved going fishing together anywhere, but mostly Lake Texoma and Sardis, OK. Michael also enjoyed playing golf with his retired friends from LOF.

Michael loved watching grandson, Kamden play baseball and watch granddaughter, Landrie play softball and compete in Karate. He loved his dogs, including Tito and Cosmo, and was a sports fanatic. Michael was a huge Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan. He will be greatly missed.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and daughter, Kristin Beasley. He is survived by his wife, Gwen, son Charles Beasley and wife Kim; grandchildren, Kamden and Landrie; also survived by sister in law, Kim Gibbs, niece, Traci, and nephew, Travis; and numerous cousins.

I graduated from Sherman High School with Mike (Hank). I knew him from having some classes with him, but my cousin Tim (Hansard) lived around the corner from where he lived growing up. We hung out with him and the Robinson sisters who also lived on that street. He was a really good person and I'm blessed to say I knew him. I didn't have much contact with him after we graduated - till Facebook 🙂 I'll miss seeing his comments on my posts - and just knowing he was still around. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during their time of loss - may the Lord surround them and give them peace and comfort during the days and weeks ahead. RIP Hank!

Gwen, Praying for God's peace and comfort for you all! Hank was the best person you could ever meet. He was great to coach with and the best friend to fish with. He will always have a special place in our hearts. Mike & Vicki Woody

Gwen and Family, I have great remembrances of the Gibbs Family. Teddy Joe and I were classmates but we started out together at the nursery at church. Mike or Hank as we called him was the little brother that I never had. Mike came by my mom's apt after she passed away in 2014. He and I talked and reminisced about life growing up. It warmed my heart that he came by as we had not seen each for probably 35 years. May God comfort you and your family as you grieve Mike's passing. Cynthia Dement Cunnyngham

Last time I saw Mike was at West Hill when Teddy was being laid to rest. I hope somehow he is buried close to Teddy. If you played Baseball in Sherman in the 1960's you knew Mike, Teddy, and their Father. Wonderful memories.

Oh, Mikey. Known you all your life. It doesn't seem possible we can't sit around at Cheddar's and eat, tease, and argue with all 4 of us any more. I will miss you more than you would have thought possible. Clark said he will never forget Uncle Mike. Hug the family for me. Love you, Gwen, Bill, and Clark
