MICHAEL PAUL GRESHAM
MICHAEL “MIKE” GRESHAM WENT HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD AND WAS REUNITED WITH THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE, KATIE, ON MARCH 25, 2023.
MICHAEL WAS BORN ON APRIL 25, 1942 IN SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA TO SAMUEL AND JEWEL GRESHAM. HE ATTENDED NEVADA UNION SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND GRADUATED IN JUNE OF 1961.
AFTER HE GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL, MICHAEL JOINED THE UNITED STATES NAVY, WHERE HE PROUDLY SERVED OUR COUNTRY DURING THE VIETNAM WAR AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGE AS AN E3 SEAMAN.
HE MET THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE, KATIE MAE GRESHAM, AND THEY MARRIED ON MARCH 9, 1973. THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN, BRENDOLYN GRESHAM-POTTS AND PAUL M. GRESHAM. MICHAEL LOVED THE LORD. HE ATTENDED AND GRADUATED FROM CHRIST FOR THE NATIONS, AS AN ORDAINED MINISTER. HE BELIEVED AND LIVED HIS ENTIRE LIFE BY THEIR MISSION, “ WE EXIST TO IMPACT HUMANITY WITH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.”
MICHAEL, ALONG SIDE HIS WIFE, WAS HEAVILY INVOLVED AS LEADERS WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS, IN CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS. HE WAS NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED AS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AND AREA DIRECTOR.
MICHAEL WAS A MASTER ELECTRICIAN, AND WORKED IN THIS FIELD FOR MANY YEARS. AFTER MOVING TO SHERMAN, HE WORKED FOR SHERMAN ISD, AS A BUS DRIVER, HE LOVED KIDS AND FELT A PRIDE AND A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT IN INSURING EACH OF HIS KIDS GOT HOME SAFE. HE RETIRED FROM SHERMAN ISD IN 2014.
MICHAEL WAS A DEVOUT CHRISTIAN AND LOVED THE LORD WITH ALL HIS HEART. HE WAS A MEMBER AND AN ELDER OF LIBERTY LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH FOR MANY YEARS.
MICHAEL WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE, KATIE GRESHAM, HIS PARENTS, SAM AND JEWEL GRESHAM, AND SISTERS, ADRIENNE SCOTT AND YVONNE GRESHAM.
MICHAEL IS SURVIVED BY HIS DAUGHTER, BRENDOLYN GRESHAM-POTTS (HUSBAND ROBERT POTTS), HIS SON, PAUL M. GRESHAM (WIFE AMBER GRESHAM). HIS SISTER, LORETTA GRESHAM-DAVIS (HUSBAND MARVIN DAVIS). MICHAEL WAS A VERY PROUD PAPA TO SEVERAL GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, WHOM HE LOVED WITH ALL HIS HEART. HE HAS BELOVED NIECES AND NEPHEWS, AND MANY FRIENDS , HE AND KATIE ADOPTED AND BROUGHT INTO THEIR FAMILY.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT: LIBERTY LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH ON SATURDAY, APRIL 1, 2023 AT 10AM. 110 W. MULBERRY STREET SHERMAN, TEXAS 75090
THE UNITED STATES NAVY WILL ACCORD MILITARY HONORS AT FRIENDSHIP CEMETERY AT 2PM ARRANGEMENTS ARE BY DANNEL FUNERAL HOME
