Obituary For Michael Roy Nicewonger

Celebration of Life for Michael Roy Nicewonger, age 60, of Sherman, Texas will be held on January 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at VFW Post 8627, 1040 Hampshire Ln, Richardson, Texas 75080. Michael passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Michael was born May 28, 1964, in Germany, the son of Kenneth E. Nicewonger Sr. and Carolynn Charolette Lehmeau. Michael was a very intelligent man with a big heart. He married his beloved wife Ruby on November 19, 2022. You could often find him tinkering in his garage listening to music and fixing something or finding a way to make it better. He especially loved building things with his laser printer. When Ruby had an idea on something for him to make, he always found a way to make it happen. Michael was a member and volunteered his time to the VFW and American Legion. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Kenneth E, Nicewonger Jr.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife Ruby Nicewonger, his two cats that he loved dearly, Gracie and Bubba, and his friends that he made all over the world.

When I started my new position on the Order Entry team, Mike was one of the first people to help me get settled. He was knowledgeable, sharp, and always willing to share his expertise. What stood out most was his patience and his ability to make even the most challenging tasks seem manageable. One thing I'll always remember is how his team's picture was a Wookie. It was such a funny and fitting touch that reflected Mike's lighthearted side. He brought a sense of humor and approachability that made working with him such a positive experience. Mike's guidance and support made a lasting impression on me, and I'll always be grateful for the time I spent learning from him. He will be deeply missed, but the impact he had on so many of us won't be forgotten.

From childhood, Mike stood out from the others, not just due to his physical stature, but for his intellect. He was building computers in his basement at 12 yrs old, when no one else even knew what they were! I'm so glad that he finally found the Love of His Life in Ruby!!! But I am so disappointed that he didn't have more time with her. In the end, he was happy, and that's a good thing! Farewell for now, Cousin!!

Mike, you were one of the best friends I've ever had. I shall miss you greatly. I'm sure you're hanging out with that sweet little cat Fiona once again. -Dave McGuire

How do I say good bye? Our time was too short. there was so much we had planned. So many adventures yet undone. You are missed every day. Thank you for loving me and giving the Life I never thought I could have. I talk to you daily YES people look at me think I'm crazy. you loved my kind of crazy. I know I made you shack your head. I will hold you in my heart until I join. Please know that you were loved. There are strangers coming up to where ever we hung out telling me of your generosity and kindness. You were at times the smartest man the room. You're in my dreams where I hold your hand and we share my day. Love you Wookie
