Obituary For Nancy Sue Webb

Nancy Webb, 88, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on July 29th, 2026, in Sherman, TX.

Funeral services will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday August 7th at Dannel Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted by Rev. Abbey Echols of First United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by Dannel Funeral Home.

Nancy was born in Roxton, Texas to James Clarence Slayden and Angie Lou Slayden on May 3rd, 1938.

She went to school in Celeste, TX and graduated from Celeste High School. She was a homemaker as well as an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. She married Donald Webb on February 8, 2003 in their home in Sherman, TX.

She and Don, the love of her life, loved camping at Lake Texoma, traveling, and each other more than anything. She was the treasurer of the Stratford Club and participated in many other clubs and activities with her many friends. She especially enjoyed playing bridge and running around with her close girlfriends.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Angie Lou Slayden and James Clarence Slayden, her sister Zoe Davis, and her Husband Don Webb.

Nancy is survived by her best friend and dog Nikki, daughter Terri Clayton and her spouse Glenn Egger, Her grandchildren Cameron and Courtney Clayton, and her great grandchildren Mercede, Caleb, Preston, and Bryan.

The family of Nancy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Nathan Watson, the staff at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman, Rev. Denise Peckham, Rev. Abbey Echols, and Beverly Nelson from First United Methodist Church in Sherman, as well as our many friends who visited her in the hospital to lift her spirits.

    Nancy was one of the "girls" when my mother, Bette Thompson, was still with us. My mother thought Nancy was the cat's meow! She loved her vivacious personality and sweet spirit. They had many good times together.

    I only met Nancy this year!! Instantly felt a connection to her! I told everyone that she was just so easy to like!! I did visit her while she was ill and she always told me she appreciated my visits! Now Nancy will rest with all the other angels above!! I will miss her!!🙏❤️
