Nell Dean Hodges, 87, of Georgetown, Texas, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Estralla Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 Saturday, April 4th, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Nell was born July 3, 1927, in Pottsboro, TX, to Thomas Grover and Ada Mae Mercer Bell. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1945 and then attended Durham Business College in San Antonio, TX. On October 23, 1947, she married Harvey 'Gene' Hodges in San Antonio. He preceded her in death in 1996. Nell was a member of the Baptist faith. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter, Bobbie Lynn Hodges. Survivors include her son Tommy Hodges and wife Edna, of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren Kevin Dean and wife Kristy, and Kimberlee Marie Hodges; one great-grandson, Ryker Hodges.
