Obituary For Neva Yowell

Services for Neva Claire (Potter) Yowell, 99, lifetime Sherman resident, who passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 will be held on Thursday, June 22, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman at 10:00 AM. Rev. Arthur Horn will officiate. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers: David Yowell, Scott Yowell, Coby Yowell, and Brandon Yowell. Ashli Clark will serve as honoray pallbearer. Neva was born on December 22, 1917, in Sherman to David Otto and Neva Mae Potter. She was raised and went to Sherman schools and graduated from Sherman High School in 1937. She met her husband TJ Yowell and they married on March 2, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma and would share 57 years of marriage together. Neva loved gospel music, especially the Gaither’s and she also loved to knit and sew and garden. She was the matriarch of the family and kept everyone where they needed to be. She was a very loving wife and mother and devoted to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Neva was preceded in death by her husband, TJ Yowell, her parents, and brother Kenneth Potter. She is survived by her sons: David and wife Sandra of Waxahachie, and Bill and wife Linda of Sherman; five grandchildren: David Yowell and wife Basmah of Irving, Scott Yowell of San Francisco, CA., Coby Yowell and wife Brooke of Graham, TX, Brandon Yowell and wife Johnna of McKinney, TX, and Ashli Clark and husband Russell of Waxahachie, TX; and eight great grandchildren. You may make memorials in Neva's name to East Sherman Baptist Church, 910 E. King St., Sherman, TX 75090.
