Obituary For Patricia Butler

Patricia Jean Butler, age 71, went just beyond the moon to meet her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Sherman, Texas, following a 6 month battle with cancer. Her family will receive friends at Dannel Funeral Home Thursday evening, February 20th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. No services are planned at this time. Patricia was born December 13, 1942 in Sherman, Texas. She was the daughter of E.P. & Edith McCright. Patricia is a 1960 graduate of Sherman High School and attended the Saint Paul School of Nursing in Dallas. She met her husband, Dallas Butler, while on a psychological rotation in New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple married on September 6, 1963 in Denison, Texas and moved to Akron, Ohio. Patricia worked as a Registered Nurse at Barberton Citizen’s Hospital for 27 years. Patricia has been reunited in death with her mother Edith McCright, her father J.D. James and adopted father E. P. McCright. Patricia leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Dallas Butler; her daughter Tracy Albert and her husband Mike of Green, Ohio, son Dale Butler and his wife Traci of North Lawrence, Ohio, and daughter Sara Butler of Sherman, Texas, her grandsons Zachary and Jacob Albert as well as many nieces, nephews and ‘grandchildren of the heart,’ her brother John McCright of Fort Worth, Texas, her sisters JoAnn Fogle and Millie Boren of Sherman, Texas. Patricia loved music and often was found listening to the oldies and singing along. When her body was still willing, she enjoyed camping, fishing, walking the South Carolina beaches, flea markets and antique shopping. She was an amazing cook who taught her children their way around a kitchen. Although an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, Patricia would also cheer for the Manning boys. She spent time on the front porch with her husband and dog, Mr. Marley, watching the birds and enjoying the beauty of the nature around her home. Patricia has asked for cremation and a private family memorial service to be held in the spring when the Texas bluebonnets are prettiest. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial donations to Home Hospice of Grayson County or your local SPCA.
