Obituary For Paula Dale Mitchell Perkins

Paula Dale Mitchell Perkins, a loving mother, devoted wife, caring nurse, cherished friend, and joyful spirit, passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 13, 1951, Paula lived a life filled with love, laughter, compassion, and friendship. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her fun-loving personality, and the special way she made people feel loved and welcomed.

A celebration of Paula's life will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman. Pastor Nathan Cain of Harvest Time Church in Sherman will officiate. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home.

Paula was the daughter of Patricia June Mitchell and Everett Mitchell. Her mother, Patricia June, preceded her in death. Paula attended Sherman High School, where she made her mark as a proud Bearcat cheerleader and FFA Sweetheart. Even in her school days, Paula's outgoing personality and vibrant spirit helped make her someone people enjoyed being around.

Paula later met the love of her life, Glen. Their love story led them to Colorado, where they were married on July 5th, 2012. Together, Paula and Glen shared the special bond of marriage and the joy of building a life together. Glen held a cherished place in Paula's heart as her loving husband.

Those who knew Paula often described her as a social butterfly, a great friend, and a whole lot of fun. She had a gift for bringing people together, making them laugh, and turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Beneath her lively personality was a loving, caring woman whose kindness touched the lives of many. Paula had a big heart, and she showed her love through the way she cared for others.

Before pursuing a career in nursing, Paula worked with high-risk children in Commerce, Texas, who had significant intellectual disabilities and special needs. She loved those children dearly and had a remarkable ability to make them laugh and feel special. Her patience, warmth, and playful spirit brought joy to their lives and reflected the compassion that would continue to define her life's work.

Paula was a loving mother to her two daughters before pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. With determination and a desire to continue caring for others, she attended nursing school at Grayson College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. Her journey into nursing was a testament to her dedication, strength, and compassionate nature. She carried the same caring heart that had guided her work with children into her nursing career.

Paula's life was a beautiful combination of laughter and love, friendship and service, determination and compassion. Whether she was sharing a laugh with a friend, loving her daughters, sharing life's journey with Glen, or caring for those who needed her, she brought a special warmth to the lives around her. She had a way of making people smile, and her joyful spirit will continue to live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her.

Though Paula's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her husband, daughters, family, and friends, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the lives she touched will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on through those she loved and the countless people who were blessed to know her.

Paula will be remembered always for her loving heart, her generous spirit, her unforgettable laughter, and the joy she brought into the world. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Paula is survived by her husband, Glen Perkins, her daughters Crystal Crews (Spouse: Darren) and April Miller (Husband: Kevin), her father Everett Mitchell, brothers Steve Mitchell (Wife: Brenda) and Tim Mitchell (Wife: Lisa), Grandsons: Austin and Jake Miller, Daughter-in-Law Kristin Daugherty (Husband:Aaron & Daughter: Harlow), Stacy Henderson (Sons: Charlie & Michael), Brandon Perkins (Willette and son Brayden)

Jerry and I stood up with Paula and Glen at South Fork Co where they married in a quaint little chapel. Paula was always fun to talk with and told stories that made her mom and dad smile. She was a free spirit and was loved by all who met her. We are out of town for memorial service and wanted Everett Glen and the family to know our love and prayers are sent to them Jerry and Nancy Roberts

It was so much fun growing up with this precious cousin. Laughing, vacationing, spending summers with her was so special. Much love to the entire Mitchell family during this difficult time. Especially to Glen who was so loving during this illness.

I thought Paula was the funniest and most beautiful Sherman Bearcat, we had great times together cheering on our team. She and Vickie were very close and at one of our last reunions she couldn't stop crying over her best friend not able to grasp much of what was happening. Sad for all of her family, but glad she is now in Heaven and no more suffering. 💕 Sally Witt Shelton

Paula was one of my favorite older cousins... her an Christy were several years older than Ginger and I...I so loved watching her and Christy roll their long hair with empty soup cans to get big puffy curls... she was always smiling and happy, so funny! And the rides in her car down hospital hill! What fun! I have so many wonderful fond memories. I know you're laughing and dancing away with Papa Jesus right now and we'll see you soon! I love you so much!! 💗

The most beautiful and kind girl to hit Sherman High School. Too many fun and crazy memories to list. Wonderful caring nurse for my husband when he became ill. We will miss your beautiful smile, laughter, and fun times. Thank you Glenn for the love you showered upon her.
