Philip Scott Elston, age 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Sherman on Friday, December 25, 2020. Scott was born November 19, 1963 in Sherman Texas; the son of Philip Elston Jr and Judy (Canada) Lewis. Mr. Elston attended and graduated from Sherman High School in 1983. He spent the last 15 years devoting his life to helping others through ministry working with 4 Rivers Outreach and Alcoholics Anonymous. He was known as a “kind, calm, lovable and gentle spirit” and he will be deeply missed by those who he worked so closely with. Mr. Elston is survived by his loving family, mother, Judy (Canada) Lewis and husband Thomas of Sherman, father, Philip Elston Jr. and wife Glenda of Sherman, step-father, Pete Hickman of Sherman, brother Jimmy Elston and Holly of Sherman, sister, Missy Croney and Bob of Sherman, nieces and nephew, Amanda, Carrie, Theresa, Myranda, Kayli and Jeremy; and a host of friends who he impacted deeply through his ministries. A memorial will be held at a later date where family and friends can come together and celebrate the life of such a kind and loving man.
