Obituary For Phillip Langford

Phillip Ray Langford 64 of Tom Bean beloved husband father and "Pops" went to be with the Lord on October 31 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Phillip was born in Sherman TX to Harley and Shirley (Clayton) Langford on August 4 1949. He attended school in Tom Bean graduating in 1967. He married Billie Watkins on June 20 1970 in Luella TX. Phillip was a godly man who served as an elder at King"s Trail Cowboy Church. His Christian faith showed through in his everyday life. He and Billie took great joy in raising their two daughters Kenzie and Dennie. He enjoyed spending time outside and at the barn with "Pop"s favorite boy Cale". Phillip and Billie also enjoyed spending time with their extended family. They loved being involved in the lives of their great nephew and niece Zak and Abby Bankston. In his early 30""s Phillip worked as the ranch manager at Ben Fortson Ranch in Callisburg Texas. This was the perfect job for him as it afforded the him the opportunity to do what he loved most: being outdoors working with cattle and spending time with his family. He was able to come home most days to have lunch with his girls. Phillip worked as a machinist for Texas Instruments/Raytheon for 38 years. Many of his co-workers have said how much they respected him for his work ethic and quality consciousness but most of all they appreciated his unwavering friendship. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife Billie, his two daughters and their husbands: Kenzie and Adrian Frey and Dennie and James Dick, one grandchild Cale Dick. He is also survived by nine siblings: Ronnie (Sharon) Langford Jerry (Kim) Langford Steve (Lisa) Langford Judy (Jerry) Heim Mike (Laura) Langford Deborah Harris Virgil (Elia) Langford Gayle Bourland and Annette (Jim) Bradley. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. The Langford family suggests memorial donations to Home Hospice of Grayson County 505 W. Center St. Sherman Texas 75090. Interment will be in White Mound Cemetery immediately following the service.
