Obituary For Raymond Kisting
Mass of the Christian Burial for Raymond John Kisting, 84, of Sadler, who passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Denison, will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Whitesboro, Texas at 10am. Father Antonio Aureus and Father Jeremy Myers will celebrate the mass. A rosary will be said for Mr. Kisting on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 6pm. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sandusky, Texas. Ray was born in Rockford, Illinois on December 5, 1932 to Bernard and Hilma Kisting. He was raised in Rockford and was captivated by westerns and cowboys. As a boy, he watched the milkman deliver milk by horse and carriage and was impressed by the way the horse obeyed every command it was given. He would sit and listen to "The Lone Ranger" on the radio and imagine he was a cowboy in the west. Ray worked for free at the horse stalls in Rockford because it was as close as he could get to being a real cowboy. Upon graduation from high school, Ray became a police officer and also met and married the love of his life, June. After he retired, they eventually moved to Texas and spent their time traveling and RVing all over the country. Ray even remodeled a Grey Hound bus into an RV which they took on their many travels to see the country. He was very handy and could fix anything. In fact, he built the house that he and June live in because he knew it had to be done exactly right! Ray knew how to fix anything and you could find him always doing something. He loved fishing, he loved horses, he loved his dogs, and he loved his family. If you knew Ray, you loved him too. He will be greatly missed. Ray is survived by his wife, Doris June Kisting of Sadler, and one sister, Margarite Hevirn, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Memorials in Ray's name may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. You may sign online condolences at www.Dannelfuneralhome.com.
