Richard A. Fiscus, 80, Sherman, Texas Dick was born on February 11, 1937 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Delos and Nola Fiscus, the oldest of three children. At a young age , they moved to State Center where he graduated from State Center High School in 1955. After graduation, he started working at Fisher Controls (Monsanto). That same year he married Lynette (Mehlisch). They lived in Marshalltown until 1959 when they moved to State Center where they had two children, Randy and Diane. In 1977, they transferred to Sherman, Texas to start up the new Fisher Controls plant. He worked for Fishers/Monsanto/Emerson for 37 years and retired in 1993. Dick died peacefully at home in his favorite chair on March 29, 2017. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Sondra Bean. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, his children, Randy (Sandy) Fiscus of Fort Collins, Colorado, Diane Robinson of Whitewright, Texas, a brother, Roger Fiscus of Marshalltown, Iowa, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dick requested no services, but donations can be made in his name to the Friends of Hagerman,s National Wildlife Refuge at 6465 Refuge Road, Sherman, Texas 75092.
