Obituary For Robert William Flaa

Robert William Flaa, 63, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023 in Gordonville, Texas.

Robert William Flaa was born in Chicago, Illinois to Georgia Lee Zeh and Ole Peter Flaa on March 25, 1959. He went to school at Denton High School and graduated in 1977. He married Deborah McCormick on June 13, 1987 in Denton, Texas. He graduated from Cooke County Junior College in 1980. He worked as a Home Inspector and owned R Eyes Inspections for the last twenty years.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Lee Zeh of Illinois and his father, Ole Peter Flaa of Norway.

Robert is survived by his former wife, Deborah McCormick, and their daughter Michelle and her husband Darin Guynes of Denton, Texas, their son Jared and his wife Brandi Byran and their children Kennedy, Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Claire of Newalla, Oklahoma, their daughter Kelsey and her husband Hunter Aycock and their children Abigail, Addison, and Sawyer of Abilene, Texas and their son Dustin Flaa of Denton, Texas. Robert is also survived by his siblings Bonnie and her husband Jack Wright, Will and his wife Julie Flaa, and John and his wife Jennie Flaa, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Robert enjoyed outdoor activities. He loved to fish, golf, snow ski, and scuba dive. You could often find him fishing on his boat in Lake Texoma, and his favorite place on Earth was the Durango Mountains in Colorado.

Robert loved his family first and foremost. He would make you laugh when you wanted to cry because he always preferred to see a smile on your face. He had the gift of creativity and was the king of projects. He would always say, “All you lack is finishing.” He was a master handyman and would drop anything to lend a helping hand.

Robert will be cremated and his ashes will be spread over a few of his beloved locations. We are all better from knowing our precious father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

I miss him so much!! It's when you realize how wonderful someone is but it's too late to tell them that it hurts so much! I have been told by Robert that "all you lack is finishin" but my favorite one is "Jesus always leaves me a place in the front " when we were looking for a parking place... and he always found one !! I miss you Robert!! Love you!!

Robert was a bright light and the most positive person I've ever known! He always found something positive in everything and everyone! He gave me so much kindness and love! He always talked about his kids and grandchildren and loved them so much! I will always remember him saying... when trying to find a parking space ... "don't worry ... Jesus always leaves me a place in the front"
