Send Flowers Rodney W Atteberry February 5, 1924 - March 2, 2016 Graveside Services for Rodney Wilson Atteberry who died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence in Pottsboro will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, TX, officiated by Rev. Paula Tucker of Colbert United Methodist Church, Colbert, OK. Rodney was born February 5, 1924, son of Golden Margaret Redman and Roy L. Atteberry in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Adamson High School, Dallas, Texas and attended the University of Texas. He married Virginia Atteberry March 2, 1950 in Dallas, Texas and she preceded him in death on November 11, 1988. Mr. Atteberry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force serving during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam from 1942-1964. He gained the rank of Tech Sergeant during his service in the USAF. He was a bus driver for Georgetown School prior to the establishment of Pottsboro Independent Schools. He was a member of Colbert United Methodist Church, Colbert, OK. Mr. Atteberry was preceded in death by is wife, parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas.
