Obituary For Roland William Shaul

Roland William Shaul, born to Wilfred and Virginia Shaul on September 13th, 1934, in Lower Lake, CA, peacefully departed on April 25th, 2024, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX, following complications from a fall. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Vidas, and his previous wife of 21 years, Carol Shaul.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Nell Nassoy Shaul, along with his children: Kathleen Conners, Aaron Shaul, Laura Shaul, Karrie Shaul, and Eric Shaul. Additionally, he leaves behind three stepchildren: Brian Hirscher, Carolyn Hough, and Shane Nassoy, as well as eighteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Lake County, California, Roland was a distinguished entrepreneur and businessman. Over his 89 years, he established a variety of enterprises, including a Case Tractor dealership, a construction company, and a logging operation. However, his most cherished accomplishment was founding Allied Information Networks, a pioneering communication and software firm.

As a longtime member of the Derby Hat Club, Roland enjoyed joining his buddies twice a year for a long weekend of fishing and storytelling.

Roland's love for adventure extended to the skies, where he soared as a passionate pilot, owning and piloting several aircraft throughout his lifetime, notably a powered glider that he and Nell flew back from Florida after its purchase.

Amidst his professional achievements, Roland was a pillar of his community, renowned for his warmth and generosity. He and Nell found joy in gathering with loved ones, often enjoying rounds of golf together.

A celebration of Roland’s rich life will be held on June 29th at Buckingham Golf Course in Kelseyville, CA. All friends and family are warmly invited to attend and honor his memory.

Memorials may be made directly to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. www.michaeljfox.org

Back sometime in the early 1980's , Marc Johnson, the owner of Gap Tractor Parts, called me and said he had just talked to a man named Roland Shaul from California and he just sent him to come talk to me about an absolutely amazing idea he had for the salvage tractor parts industry. Marc emphasized to me that I should not run him off but listen to him because it could change the parts world dramatically. After talking to Roland the next day, I realized Marc was right and I agreed to work with Marc and Roland to help encourage the Texas parts dealers. Roland was the consummate scholar and gentleman when it came to helping all of see his dream and to trust him to help us all become united in common endeavor to grow our businesses and by bringing more to the table for our customers. I am truly blessed to have worked with Roland for so many years as a member of the NTPDA. I had so much respect and admiration for him and the way he treated and respected everyone he knew and worked with. My prayers are with you Eric and for your family as well.
