Obituary For Rosie Dickerson
Services for Rosie Jane Dickerson age 80 of Denison Texas who passed away at Texoma Medical Center in Denison on Friday August 10 2012 will be held on Monday Aug. 13th at 10:30 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Denison with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery following funeral services. The family received visitors at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman on Sunday Aug. 12 2012 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mrs. Dickerson was born on January 10 1932 to Marion Cleveland McVay and Florence Ada Carruth McVay in Fannin County TX. She was a graduate of Dodd City High School. She married Richard A. Dickerson on March 31 1948 in Bonham. She was employed by Texoma Medical Center in the business office for 13 years before retiring. She also assisted her husband in the office while he owned B & B Paint and Body shop. Mrs. Dickerson enjoyed gardening and was especially fond her pink rose bush that was given to her by her daughter and son-in-law. She always loved going with her husband to Colorado where they would fish and hunt. It was the her grandchildren whom she taught how to fish. She always loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known as "Granny" to all of the grandchildren. Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by her parents sisters, Beatrice Jones and Audrey Pearl McVay brothers, Merritt McVay Herman McVay. She is survived by her husband Richard A. Dickerson of Denison one daughter Ann Hill and her husband Dennis of Denison three grandchildren, Richard Hill and wife Mendy of Denison Karen Hodgdon and husband Lindsay of Rockwall Brandon Hill and wife Cassidy of Weatherford OK great-grandchildren, Calven John Jack and Cadence Hill Kobie and Kelsey Hodgdon brother J.D.
