A funeral service for Ruby Evelyn McQueary, 90, of Sherman, who passed away on April 8, 2017 at Homestead of Sherman, will be held Wednesday, April 12 th , at 2:00 pm at Dannel Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Grissom of Twin Cities Baptist Church in Sherman will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers for Mrs. McQueary will be Larry Conmay, Larry Hix, Allen Hix, Jason Hall, Rickey Hix, and Chuck Hix. Ruby McQueary was born in Bells, Texas to Dock and Effie Giles on November 6, 1926. Ruby grew up working on the farm alongside her five siblings and helped provide for her family by doing different chores, including picking cotton. She spent her whole life in Grayson county eventually married Joyce Leland Hall in June of 1944. They had two children, Linda and Clifford Hall. They lived and worked in Denison and attended Twin Cities Baptist Church. Mr. Hall preceded her in death in 1979. Ruby continued to live a quiet simple life and then in 1987 she married Eugene McQueary and they enjoyed several years together until he preceded her in death in 1996. Ruby was a good woman who loved God, her family, and her church. She will be missed. Mrs. McQueary is survived by her daughter, Linda Hix of Irving, brother, Frank Giles, Jr. of Houston, sister, Catherine Tramell of Sherman, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
