Sadie Belle Flowers, 92, longtime resident of Sherman, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015, at The Lighthouse Care Home in Sherman. Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 12th, at Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13th, at Grayson Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Roy Webster will officiate, assisted by Dr. Eddy Johnson. Interment will follow immediately afterward in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Sadie was born December 28, 1922, in Denton County, TX, to Walter Fred and Sallie Bernard Brandon. She was married to Preston Flowers in July of 1952. They enjoyed over 62 years together before his death in January of 2015. They were very active members of Grayson Bible Baptist Church. She was known as 'Grandma Sadie' by more than three generations. Before retirement, Sadie dished up countless meals in cafeteria service in the public school system. Preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, she is survived by her son Steve Flowers and wife, Kenda, of Sherman; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
