Obituary For Sherry Lenora Miller

Sherry Lenora Miller, age 78, of Keller, TX, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025.

She was born to Frank & Mildred Burr in Houston, TX on December 3, 1946. Sherry grew up and attended high school in Crowley, LA, and later graduated from business school to become a legal secretary in the 1960’s. Sherry worked for several law firms throughout her career to support her family and eventually retired as the Business Operations Manager of a Medical Answering Service in the early 2000’s in McKinney, TX.

Sherry was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary to honor her father’s military service and had an 8- year passion for volunteering at her local elementary school where she was well-known as the “Copy Nana”. She was very strong in her faith, loved watching LSU football, gardening, quilting and crocheting for her grandchildren, cooking for and laughing with friends and family, and was even known for her crafts and painting, taking after her grandmother, Ida.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, stepbrother Ken Lyons, and her beloved husband, Michael Miller, Sr., whom she married on August 7, 1996.

She is survived by her loving siblings, Kay McClanahan and Roy Lyons; devoted children, Tammy Hurlbut and son-in- law, Steve, Robert Thomason, Amber Thomason, stepson, Michael Miller and daughter-in-law, Paige, and Lisa Antioco and son-in-law, John; additionally, by her sweet nieces, Kelsey Smith and Robbye McClanahan.

Sherry is also survived by her eight wonderful grandchildren; Michael Dalton, Elizabeth Hurlbut, Matthew Hurlbut, Rachel Francis, Morgan Francis, Gabriel Thomason, Riley Dobbins, and John-Ryan Miller, and by two delightful great- grandchildren; Britton & Olivia Dalton. Furthermore, she is survived by countless extended family and close friends, whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11am (CST) on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.
