Obituary For Sheryl Jaramillo

A memorial service celebrating the life of Sheryl Schweizer Jaramillo, age 52, of Sherman, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 322 West Pecan Street in Sherman. Rev. Neill Morgan will officiate. She passed away on Friday, January 24th, at her residence in Sherman. Sheryl was born on September 26, 1961, in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Charles and LaVerne (Barrow) Schweizer. She graduated from Sherman High School and later received her Associates Degree from Grayson College. Sheryl married Jose Reyes Jaramillo on December 15, 1984, in Sherman, TX. They had three children. Sheryl was raised in the Presbyterian Church and remained a member of Covenant Presbyterian although she attended Catholic services with her children. Sheryl’s greatest delight was watching her children grow and thrive. She spent her life being a wife and a mom, caring for her husband and children. She never missed a dance recital, band concert, football game or soccer game. She was a very caring lady and will be missed by all those who were the beneficiaries of her love. Sheryl loved playing Bunko and Pokeno with her friends. She also loved scrapbooking at home and, on numerous occasions, with her friends she loved dearly. She had a difficult life, but she was her own person, especially in her later years, giving more of herself than she had to give. She always had a smile on her face and you knew she was in the room, with her robust laugh and love for everyone around her. We have all learned from her in many ways that will be passed along forever. Sheryl is survived by her husband, Reyes, two sons, Josef Jaramillo of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Jayson Jaramillo of Sherman, and one daughter, Micallie Jaramillo of Sherman; granddaughter, Trinity Jaramillo of Muskogee, one sister, Stephanie Schweizer of New York City, her father Charles Schweizer and step-mother, Darlene, of Sherman. She also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as a host of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, LaVerne Schweizer. Family night will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.

Sheryl offered robust laughter to the world, chuckling wryly at difficult people and situations. Sheryl loved abundantly and gave herself to others. She was my first cousin, really a sister, a model for selflessness. Beyond the pain of this personal loss, my heart goes out to Joey, Jayson, and Micallie, who, carrying forward the legacy of their mother, grandmother LaVerne, and great-grandmother Fanny, will endure for each of us in difficult times. ~ Paul Schweizer, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Sheryl, You were my best friend in high-school. I loved your wit and incredible sense of humor. You made me see a humor in almost every situation and you taught me acceptance of things I didn't understand. I found you to be kind and generous and you helped me through some difficult times. I only wished we had kept in touch in the years that followed but I thought of you often. I will always have a place in my heart for you. Paul Mathews Seattle WA ~ Paul Mathews, Seattle, Washington
