Send Flowers Steve Shilling September 15, 1947 - October 27, 2014 Funeral Services for Stevie “Steve” Glenn Shilling, 67, of Sherman will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, TX. Pastor Danny Wood will officiate. Interment will follow immediately afterward in Friendship Cemetery. Steve passed away early Monday morning, October 27, 2014 at his home in Sherman, Texas after discovering he had lung cancer only a month prior. Steve was born September 15, 1947 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sherman, the son of Leon Ernest Shilling and Mamie Irene McBride Shilling. He graduated from Sherman High School and Grayson County College with degrees in both Business and Management. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired warehouseman from Gates Rubber Co, and a member of West Sherman Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Leon Ernest Shilling and Mamie Irene Shilling, friend and former wife Betty Shilling, and two brothers, Melvin Leon Shilling and Robert Lee Shilling. He is survived by one sister Elizabeth Ann Scally and husband Wayne Scally of Burleson, TX. Also surviving are daughters, Sara Ann Taylor and husband Monty Taylor of Sherman, TX; Debra Louise Wade and husband William Curtis Wade of Sherman, TX; Alice Christine Wilson and husband Ken Wilson of Sherman, TX; and son Phillip Francis Weightman and wife Janet Weightman of Sherman, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren Andrew and Bryan Wilson, Zachary and Alexandra Wade, Manda Esparza and husband Noel Esparza, Justin Coby Taylor, and Katherine Weightman. He was also blessed by one great-granddaughter Adriana Lynn Esparza, adorable dog Sandy and kitties Mucho and Fraidy, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Steve was also a long time member of the Sherman Elm Street AA Group, where in November 2014 he would have celebrated his 24th birthday.
