Steve was married to one of my dearest friends which shows what great taste he had and gave my youngest her first haircut and that was 17 years ago which seems unreal! He was a genuine person and that is a rare and special attribute. Go rest high on that mountain, Steve.

It never was just about another haircut with Steve. In that shop you could expect an abundance of laughter and stories, some were even true. There were all kinds of discussions from past Bearcat football, baseball games, good coaches, bad coaches to horses and huntin' dogs. Talks about the shenanigans of lawmen, judges and attorneys in Sherman's past became entertaining. Steve's words painted a colorful picture of these events and he will be missed by many. I pray that the family cherishes all the good memories and celebrate his freedom from pain and suffering.

My heart is with all of Steve's family, he leaves a hole that will be hard to fill. Steve was my barber for over 50 years, I drove from Plano for 6 years and flew home from Europe for 4 years to have him work his magic. We grew old together, I will miss Steve as a friend and a barber. Pat Gooden

My condolences to Steve's family for their loss. I have known Steve for 40 plus years as his banker, his customer, and his friend. One thing I learned about Steve early on was that his word was his bond. You could always count on him to follow through on a promise. -Fred Miller
