Obituary For Steven Robert Hamilton

Steven Robert Hamilton, age 59, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Sherman, Texas. Steven was born October 9, 1961 at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Frances and James Hamilton. Steven is survived by his precious children, RaeLynn and Alyssa Hamilton, his loving aunt, Heather Burk, sister-in-law, Mona Hamilton, niece and nephews, Emma, Hugo, and Oscar Hamilton and his faithful companion, Brady the wonder dog.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Hamilton, and brother Vincent Hamilton.

Steven had a gigantic personality and an even bigger heart. He had a smile for everyone and never met a stranger. In true “Steve” fashion, he was a free spirit and made many friends amidst his travels. Among his many talents, Steven was a five-star chef for many years, who loved to prepare meals for family and friends. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and spending time at the beach. He embraced nature and animals, and that is where he truly felt at peace. Those who knew him best will always remember his love for life, his infectious laugh, and his witty sense of humor, never missing an opportunity to make an inappropriate joke.

Though he lived a very full life with many accomplishments, it was no secret his proudest accomplishments were his daughters, whom he spoke of often.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Steven touched are invited to Dannel Funeral Home, 302 S. Walnut Street, Sherman, TX from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 for a celebration of Steven’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Steven Robert Hamilton memorial fund at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

We were so sorry to learn of Steve's death. We had visited with him at the Dog Park and knew he was going through many tests and was not getting any good results but had no idea, he was so near the end that last time we saw him and Brady. Mike and I already miss seeing him at the park with his great companion, Brady. He was always throwing Brady the ball. Not seeing Steve and Brady leaves a void at the park for sure. We know you are not suffering now Steve! Mike & Linda Tarzis
