Terry Steven “Steve” Brinkley, 74, of Sherman, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service for Steve will be held at a later date.

Steve was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Robert Lee and Elizabeth Brinkley. He was raised in Muskogee and attended schools there. The family moved to Sherman and he began working various jobs at companies in Grayson County, including Overland, Sherman Independent School District, Douglas Distributing, Hales Trailer and Reedrill.

Steve loved fishing and bowling. He fished in different “secret spots” including Lake Texoma. He loved his family very much, especially the grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

Steve is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy Brinkley; 2 sons: Darrell Scott Brinkley and Jason Dewayne Brinkley and wife Allison; 13 grandchildren: Ashley, Payton, Audrey, Emily, Daniel, Damien, Stephen, Ely, Austin, Gavin, Devlin, Calvin, Meeya; 2 sisters; Judy and Trudy; and brother, David.
