Theodore (Ted) George Melonakos, 88, of Howe, Texas, passed away on August 10, 2018 in Denison, Texas. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday August 19, 2018 at Dannel Funeral Home located at 302 S. Walnut St. in Sherman, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday August 20, 2018 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman with Father Nicholas Hadzellis of St. Demetrios Greek Orothodox Church in Ft. Worth, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow at Akers Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. Arrangements are by Dannel Funeral Home. Ted was born to George and Chrisanthie Melonakos on January 20, 1930. He married Ruby Adaline McElroy on July 30, 1955 in Dallas, Texas. He owned several restaurants throughout his career. Ted is preceded in death by both his parents and three sisters and one brother. Ted is survived by his wife Ruby, his sons George Melonakos and his wife Tina, James Melonakos and his wife Donna and Andrew Melonakos and his wife Marsha, his brother Kostas Milonakos, his grandchildren Shawn Melonakos, Tabitha Melonakos, Karsten Melonakos, Audrey Gross, Brandon Derrick and Nicholas Melonakos, his great-grandchildren Andrew Melonakos, Callie Melonakos, Jace Castor, Isabella Castor, Corbin Derrick and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be George Melonakos, James Melonakos, Brandon Derrick, Karsten Melonakos, Scotty McElroy, and Dylan Ullom. Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Melonakos and Nicholas Melonakos.
