Thomas Joshua Loving (Josh), 74, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on October 1, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

Josh was born on November 19, 1951, in Oxnard, California, to Jeannette Mascio and Thomas Loving. He graduated from Channel Islands High School in Oxnard, California. Josh joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Josh spent his life working as a concrete mason, where he perfected his craft of pouring, shaping, and finishing concrete. Josh enjoyed surfing, motorcycles, and challenging himself by gardening in Texas.

Josh is preceded in death by his parents, Jeannette and Thomas, his sister, Roz Suwyn, Chet Suwyn, and Grand-Pup Macie.

Josh is survived by his sister Jacie Surdaki, brother Max Loving, children Cody (LeAnn) Loving, Natalie (Alan) Blair, Jordan Loving, Lauren (Brandon) Hughes, Jeremy Loving, the children’s mother Victoria May, and grandchildren Brooklyn & Reed Blair, Makaylee Loving, Weston & Amelia Hughes, Jaxon & Max McDougal, Abigail & Alexander Freimer, and his grand-pups Davy, Wrigley, Zeus, and Finn.

In Josh's spirit, if possible, please wear a Hawaiian Shirt and flip-flops.

A celebration of Josh’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Dannel Funeral Home, located at 302 S. Walnut St., Sherman, TX 75090.

Josh’s family extends our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Patel and Methodist Celina Medical Center, who worked tirelessly to improve his last days on earth.
