Obituary For Vailey Richardson

Vailey Louise Richardson, 68, of Whitewright, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at her home with her loving family surrounding at her side. According to her directive, her body has been given to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for scientific research. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21st, in Dannel Funeral Chapel in Sherman. Dr. Keven Johnson, of Houston, Texas, will officiate. Vailey was born February 20, 1946, in Sherman, Texas, to James Boyd and Betty Elmore Fullenwider. She attended Sherman schools, graduating from Sherman High School in 1964. She was fortunate enough to have traveled throughout every state in these United States, driving her parents and two aunts (her mother’s sisters; aka ‘The Elmore Girls’). She worked for Johnson & Johnson, Texas Instruments and lastly, until retirement, as a production supervisor at Libby-Owens-Ford manufacturing plant in Sherman, where many life-long friendships were begun. Vailey loved to read, and was most at-home in the outdoors. She had a profound, innate love for animals. All animals. She especially loved her ‘four-legged babies’ – Moto, Sugar, Torch, Thor, Copper and Coal. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her life partner, Clotelia Price; sons Timothy Richardson and wife Kathleen, of Sherman, and Danny Richardson (and his dog – Vailey’s grand-dog, Xena); brothers: James B. Fullenwider, Jr. and wife Henrietta of Sherman, Paul Fullenwider of Houston, and Bruce Fullenwider and wife Lisa of Mangum, OK; sister Paulette Miller and husband Richard of Sherman; grandchildren: Lindsey Richardson, Amber Stiner, Paige Morgan, Price Morgan, Peyton Morgan and Chloe Alonge; great-grandchildren: Hunter Stiner, Hannah Stiner, Kinley McElhannon and Cooper McElhannon; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. Vailey and her family wish to thank beloved friend Betty Musal, who was always there! Also, Shan Thomas of Dallas, Martha Mangrum of Whitewright, the staff of Home Hospice of Grayson County, Brenda & John Donnelly of Dallas, Hilda Corine, and Nancy Boatman, all of whom had a profound impact on Vailey’s life and a special place in her heart. Vailey’s family would be honored by memorial donations to the charity of your choosing.
