Obituary For Virginia Wick

Virginia Ernestine Wick passed away Friday March 9 2012 at Texoma Health Care Center Sherman Texas. Virginia was born on August 8 1930 in Denison Texas. She was the daughter of Thomas Britton and Myrtle Isaac Britton. In July of 1948 she met Ralph Wick at the skating rink and they married one week later on July 17 1948 in Denison. It was a love story from the beginning and lasted 59 years until his death on May 17 2007. They moved to Ohio then to California and then moved back to Sherman in 1993. Ms. Wick enjoyed a career as Quality Control Manager and a Warehouse Manager for NY-Glass Plastics Calnetics in Paramount CA before retirement. A graveside service for Ms. Wick will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday March 16 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Denison Texas with Jan Turner officiating. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday March 15 2012 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Myrtle Britton brothers Otis Britton Grady Britton and Raymond Britton also sisters Imogene Britton and Edna Mae Cook. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Hutcheson of Sherman nieces and nephews Jan and Steve Turner of Denison Betsy Caldwell of Sherman Brenda Nieves of Sherman Larry and Judy Britton of Arlington Vickie Parris of Fort Worth Carolyn and Jerry Murphy of Dana Point CA. Great nieces and nephews Jeff and Shannon Turner of Denison Briget and David Hammer of Sherman John Bearden of Sherman Jason Sawyer of Sherman Kimber and Diego Morales of Sherman several great-great nieces and nephews as well as many nieces and nephews in California and one great-great-great niece. With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
