Obituary For Wanda Dalton

Wanda Jane Dalton, 70, of Howe, passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 27 from 5-7 PM at Dannel Funeral Home. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Wanda was born in Sherman, Texas on February 11, 1947 to Thomas and Betty Griffith. She owned and operated an in-home daycare in Howe, Texas for over 37 years. Children were always her joy. She loved and helped to raise countless children in the community throughout her career. Wanda was the matriarch of her family, and loved spending time with them. She was a dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, caregiver and friend. She loved and was loved by all. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Bobby Justus, nephew Stephen Wortham and her former husband Jerry Dalton. Wanda is survived by her daughter Janna Dalton and husband Billy Francisco of Wichita Falls, Texas, two sisters Brenda Flores of Sherman, Texas and Jerri Lynn Wortham and husband David Wortham of Howe, brother Thomas Griffith of Howe, her grandchildren Justin Dalton, Calvin Justus, and Stormy Justus as well as nieces Tammy Hoff, Jennifer Daniels, and Jessica Griffith, nephews Trae Flores, Michael Lewis, Thomas Griffith and Tanner Griffith. She also has numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family members whom she cherished. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wanda to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org/donate .

    Aunt Wanda, I don't know how things will be now without you. Our pillar and our Matriarch. I bet you never knew that....too humble to accept that. Sean is still waiting for you to tell him your goulash recipe! Every visit to Sherman always ended with us stopping in and saying good bye to you. Always humbled because you'd say You didn't have to do that! LOL Yes I did! I'm so happy we talked on your last Friday....I loved our calling you.
