Mr Ramsey coached my Dad in varisty football in tom bean. My whole life I had a terrible time in math. Algebra was my worst subject. My whole Hs career Mr. Ramsey gave me his time for tutoring during the school year more than any other teacher would. Most gave up on me, but he didn't. When I was a senior in Tom Bean 2008-2009 I had one more chance to pass the state math test or I wouldn't graduate and be held back. He would meet with me multiple times a week that summer and I passed with a 70. He will forever be a Tom Bean legend in my eyes.

I also had the honor to work and coach with Bill. We had some great stories...loved to visit with him. What a great, full life he lived!

Dear Ramsey family, I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Ramsey at Blue Ridge ISD as his Secretary when he moved into the HS Principal's job. He was always kind and fair to all students, teachers, parents and staff. He loved teaching, coaching and never did I hear of anyone not getting along with Bill. He devoted his life to education and people - a life well lived! May God give you comfort and strength in the days and weeks ahead. - Carol Jones

Bill and I started coaching and teaching at TBHS in 1978. Bill was a very interesting person. He was very knowledgeable on many subjects. He was very mild in his approach with people but, he did have a temper when pushed. One of my best memories with Bill took place on Friday home football games. When the last bell rang, we would head to Barbara's Burgers in Bells and enjoy some "good ole burgers". Bill was good MAN who would help anyone who needed help. RIP my FRIEND And my God bless his family.

A wonderful person and a fantastic educator. As a principle, he stood up his teachers, and he was a always there to help. Will miss that silver smile.

A great educator and role model that had a positive impact on our lives while he was at Tom Bean. We are thankful for the opportunity to have had Coach Ramsey as a educator and role model.

Bill and I were "down the hall" neighbor/ colleagues and friends at Tom Bean High School. He helped me many times with technology issues (mine!)and we shared a love of genealogy research. I had a 3rd. Great grandmother named Ramsey- and Bill and I always said that one day, when we find time, we'll figure out our Ramsey cousin connection. Bill loved teaching and he was never too busy to help a student. He will be missed😌❤️

No other teacher growing up made an impact on me like Mr. Ramsey. I credit him for his influence on my passion for lifelong learning and knowledge. Not only was he a great math teacher, but he was also knowledgeable about many topics. I fondly remember Mr. Ramsey showing the class a slide rule and sharing how math and that type of basic analog tool helped the US land on the moon. I learned so much from Mr. Ramsey in those few years I had the privilege to be his student. I promise to follow his guidance, never to stop learning, and I will be sure to read the Desiderata poem from time to time, like the one he hung beside his diplomas. I will never forget my math teacher and friend. My condolences go out to the Ramsey family. May your memories of your loved one find you peace and comfort.

One of my favorite teachers and coach.

  • July 30, 2025

May he rest in peace. He was my 8th grade math teacher in 94/95 and one of my all time favorites. I didn't even like math! But he was a good teacher and he cared about his students. I hadn't seen him in years and years but I know he will be missed.

He was my dad. He was a good man. I miss him. He never lied to me. That's something you can't say about most folks. We had some good times when I was young. He always had something good to say. He always had faith in me no matter what. May he rest in peace.

This man was one of the most patient men that I had the pleasure of knowing. I was a problem student and had issues with school. This man was constantly on my side and took precious time away from his family to stay after school and ensure that students, like me had the extra time that we needed. Prayers to the family of a man who was truly a saint.

Bill and I taught together during my time in Blue Ridge and he was a great mentor and fellow educator. He had the best attitude through both of my pregnancies and my children still remember him. His sincere concern for the students and community members will always remain a part of so many lives. My heartfelt condolences to his family. His passing is a loss for all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

Bill hired me to teach at Blue Ridge ISD. He was such a great person to work for. He hired me knowing I was pregnant and was so understanding when he got a phone call from me on the 1st day of school, at 4 in the morning, letting him know that I needed a substitute because I was having my son early. He will be missed.

  • July 30, 2025

Coached at Blue Ridge with Bill. He was a dedicated teacher and administrator. He hired my wife knowing she was pregnant and couldn't start the school year immediately. Most administrators would not have done that but Bill had a servant's heart! Rest in Peace!

Mr. Ramsey was the coolest and most fun teacher. He knew how to teach to the student not just the lesson. He will be truly missed.

  • July 30, 2025

Mr Ramsey was an amazing math teacher hands down my favorite! If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have graduated. He will be greatly missed!

  • July 30, 2025

Mr. Ramsey—the kindest man! My algebra teacher at Tom Bean. He would chat with me about life and help me if I had questions. So sorry that the world has lost such a great human! Prayers for the family. God bless.

My math teacher for 2 years in Bells. He was patient and kind. We used to love to get him sidetracked talking about anything but math just so we wouldn't get an assignment. I learned as much about life and I did about math those years thru those sidetracked conversations. I don't remember many teachers from high school but I will forever remember him fondly. Rest in peace Coach Ramsey.

I hate hearing this. He was a great man! I'll never forget having him for math my sophomore year of high school. If I wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have made it thru that year. He was patient, kind and caring. Prayers for his family
