William L. Phillips passed away peacefully at the Homestead of Sherman Nursing Facility on February 25 2013. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday February 27 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Brandon of Crowley Texas officiating. Services are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Les was born in Sherman on July 8 1927 to George Phillips and Jessie Glen Elliott. He was a graduate from Sherman High School Class of 1946. Les married Rae Walker in Sherman in 1952 and they were married for sixty wonderful years. From this union they were blessed with three sons. Les served proudly in the United States Air Force for twelve years part of that time spent during the Korean War. He was employed as a fireman prior to retirement for the Civil Service at Perrin Field until their closing. Woodworking was a hobby that Les enjoyed as well as spending time with his grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Rae of Sherman sons Mike Phillips and wife Kathy of McKinney David Phillips and wife Cindi of Crowley TX Steven Phillips and wife Debra of Allen Texas daughter-in-law Sandra Phillips other family members, Jason and Jennifer Vickers Mark and Jill Collum Matt and Julia Burke Lauren Phillips Andrew Phillips.
