Our Staff

Charles Dannel owns Dannel Funeral Home, and is the fifth generation in his family to serve the community as a licensed funeral director. Recognized for his experience, expertise and leadership, he has served on the boards of the North Texas Funeral Directors Association and Texas Funeral Services, Inc. He is honored to serve the community that has given so much to him and his family.

Ken has been a Funeral Director and Funeral Pre-need Counselor for over 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the Berlin Brigade and graduated from West Texas State University with a degree in marketing. Ken has been married to his wife, Deanna for over 50 years, and currently resides in Bonham on The Martin Ranch.

Ellie is a resident of Elwood, Texas and a graduate of the Northeast Texas College Funeral Program. She is a licensed funeral director and also helps her family raise cattle.

Leland has been a pastor for over 30 years and has officiated hundreds of funeral and memorial services. As Family Services Counselor at Dannel, Leland provides thoughtful attention to families at the time of a loved one’s death, and is also available to assist individuals and families with pre-planning needs.

Walt was born in Hudson, New York and moved to Texas in 1966 to work at Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas. He retired from TI in 2001 after 35 years. Walt and his wife, Wendy, attend Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman. He is also a Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.

Buddy has been working at Dannel for several years and also serves as a chaplain. Buddy lived many years in Arlington before moving to Pottsboro.

Barb has worked for Dannel in several capacities and truly loves to serve others. She and her husband Leland are married with 2 children.

Sharron has worked for Dannel Funeral Home since 2022. She is originally from Van Alstyne and lives in Tom Bean with her husband, Mike.

Johnnie is a lifelong resident of Sherman. He has worked at Dannel for several years and has found a purpose in serving others.
