Walt was born in Hudson, New York and moved to Texas in 1966 to work at Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas. He retired from TI in 2001 after 35 years. Walt and his wife, Wendy, attend Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman. He is also a Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.
